SPECIAL EVENTS
1. Arbor Day Ceremony – April 23rd Our Color Guard will be presenting the colors at the Arbor/Earth Day Ceremony at Northside Park at 9:00 AM. The whole Post is invited to attend and there will be approximately 100 3rd grade students, teachers and parents from Ocean Elementary School. This is a good children and youth program to support.
2. Armed Forces Day, May 15th we will be joining the Marine League at the Flag Plaza at North Side Park at 11:00 AM to pay our respect to our Country’s veterans. We would like representative of the Army, Navy, Coast Guard and Air Force. Wreaths will be presented by the boy scouts to the base of each service ensign and our veterans are needed to assist. They are not inviting speakers, but the Mayor is invited.
3. May 22nd The American Legion Riders are having a “Yard Sale at the Post”, dig up those “Treasurers” that you would like to sell, Tables are $10.00 and the Yard Sale will run from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Breakfast and lunch will be available. Come on out that day and see what "Treasures" you can find and enjoy Breakfast and/or Lunch.
4. Memorial Day - The parade has been cancelled, but we will have our own Memorial Day Service at the Post on the Traditional Memorial day of May 30. It will begin at 11:00 AM and this year will include the Post Everlasting ceremony. In this way we will honor not only those lost in earlier wars, but our own recently deceased who have left us to transfer to that Post Everlasting. I hope you all can join us for the service and the lunch following.
